About the tour

Teenjurey is a popular day hike trail in East Sikkim, located within the Fambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary. The trail starts from Golitar base camp, about 25 km (1 hour drive) from Gangtok. It leads to the highest point of the sanctuary at 2,130 m (6,990 ft). The 5 km uphill trail takes approximately 3 hours to ascend. From the top, hikers enjoy panoramic views of Gangtok town, Teesta Valley, and even Mt. Khangchendzonga, the world’s third-highest peak (8,586 m). The area has basic log houses and a campsite. Local guides are mandatory for the hike.

Itinerary

Day 1

Drive from Gangtok to Golitar base camp (25 km / 1 hr), the starting point of the Teenjurey trek. Begin the 5 km hike through Fambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary. Reach the top in about 3 hours. Enjoy panoramic views of Gangtok, Teesta Valley, and Mt. Khangchendzonga. Descend back to base camp. Return to Gangtok by evening. Local guide is mandatory for this trek.
